Opportunities and risks for AI in Europe
Over the past few years, artificial intelligence has become a hot topic. China, the USA, Canada, Australia and several other countries have put major AI initiatives into place, and there is much movement towards large-scale support for AI in Europe as well.
In this presentation, Holger Hoos briefly sketches the growing push for AI in Europe, discussing the risks and opportunities driving and arising from this, and shares his thoughts on what should be done to make the best of it - for LIACS, Leiden University, the Netherlands and Europe. Hoos focuses on the CLAIRE initiative, which he helped launch earlier this year. He outlines what CLAIRE seeks to achieve and how they will realise these goals, and he gives a sneak preview of what they intend to roll out over the coming months.
If you are interested in the future of AI in Europe, this talk presents a good opportunity to learn about what's happening and to think about how you could get more involved.
