Have you ever wondered what happens to your phone when you discard it? A famous chemist once said that “Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed” which means that every product we discard will return to nature somehow. Often, with very pervasive consequences on the environment for many years, and sometimes in ways that are unpredictable.
How important it is to understand the “life cycle” of products and how to find the optimal parameters of environmental impacts is what is what Mark Huijbregts is going to tell us about. As a specialist in the life cycle assessment of products, services, chemicals and technologies he will tell us how these tools can help us to improve the environmental performance of human society.
This lecture will be held in the Van Steenis building on the 9th of October at 11:00 AM
