On Wednesday 5 September 2018, Dr. Timothy Potts, director of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, will present the first copy of the new publication "Beyond the Nile, Egypt and the Classical World" to Prof. dr. Carel Stolker, Rector Magnificus of Leiden University.

The book "Beyond the Nile" was published on the occasion of a large (eponymous) exhibition in the J. Paul Getty Museum: both the book and the exhibition rely on a heavy input from Leiden - in the form of papers, new research , advice and masterpieces from the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden.
