Vijay Prashad is the Director of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research and the Chief Editor of LeftWord Books. He is the author of twenty-five books, including The Darker Nations, The Poorer Nations and Red Star Over the Third World. He writes regularly for The Hindu, Frontline, BirGün, Newsclick and Alternet.

CHIRRS (Contemporary History and International Relations Research Seminar) brings together historians, area specialists and international relations specialists to address 20th century topics from Brexit to the Muslim world and from French decolonization to the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
