On Tuesday April 10 2018, Professor Niels Petersen of Münster University, Germany, will give the Annual Tim Koopmans Lecture.
Professor Petersen in a renowned expert when it comes to the use of social science and economic theory in public law. He currently serves as Professor of Public Law, International Law & EU Law at the University of Münster. In the past he was, amongst other things, a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law & International Law in Heidelberg and New York University Law School.
His lecture, which is titled ‘Empirical Research in Public Law – A Bird’s-eye View’ concerns the increased use of social science in the law. Lawyers cannot escape engaging in empirical research any longer. Will that be their downfall as a discipline? Or rather a great challenge? Let’s hear Professor Petersen’s take on that!
The lecture will be conducted in English. Drinks afterwards and all are welcome!
