On 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force to regulate and protect EU citizen's personal data. This will have consequences for all organisations who deal with this kind of data… but how can they prepare for it? Join us and our guests Stuart Campo (Harvard Humanitarian Initiative), Judith Tarmond (T&R Advocaten) and Maaike Blom (Data4Development) to learn more about this new law and the importance of using data in a responsible manner.

13:00 - Welcome, tea & coffee

13:15 - Josje Spierings (HumanityX) gives a general welcome and introduction

13:20 - Stuart Campo (Harvard Humanitarian Initiative) talks about the importance of data responsibility

13:35 - Joanna van der Merwe (Centre for Innovation) covers a GDPR case study: developing the Data Privacy Policy for our own Centre for Innovation

13:50 - Workshop introductions by Maaike Blom (Data4Development) and Josje Spierings (HumanityX)

14:00 - 15:00 Parallel workshops:

Workshop 1: Where legal really meets IT [in Dutch]
Law Firm T&R Lawyers are specialised in privacy law and have applied their knowledge to build an application that is applicable to all organisations. In this workshop, Mr. Judith Tarmond (Partner T&R) will tell you more about the GDPR process and give tips on where to start if you want to lead your organisation to compliance. This break out session will touch on the process itself, but will also give insights into how legal, IT and cyber security come into play.

Workshop 2: From Policy to Practice: A Discussion
The aim of this workshop is to facilitate an open discussion about the challenges organisations currently face in both ensuring their compliancy with GDPR as well as improving their data responsibility practices in general.
