Nowruz
Nowruz is the Persian New Year. The holiday honours the start of spring and is celebrated in more than 20 countries in Central and South Asia, the Middle East, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe. This year, Nowruz is coming to Leiden. While the festivities usually take place on 21 March, we want to allow as many people as possible to celebrate with us, so Nowruz in Leiden will be celebrated on Saturday the 24th of March.
On this night, there will be food, drinks, presentations, music, dance and play. The special guest is Farid Sheek, who will play the daf (a Persian drum). Come and dance with us!
Entrance is free, food and drinks can be purchased for a small fee. Bring cash and come join us!
