L.A.S. Terra symposium: Old man and the sea
- 14 March 2018

- Main hall
On the 14th of March study association L.A.S. Terra will once again host its annual symposium and, in keeping with the tone of the 200th anniversary of archaeology in Leiden, it will be even more jubilant!
The theme of the symposium is Old Man and the Sea. The sea has played an integral and diverse role throughout man’s history; from our earliest beginnings, when Homo sapiens began to incorporate more and more marine elements into our diet, to when the seas became a connection instead of obstacle between continents.
This diverse relationship with the seas will be reflected in the speakers we have invited. The symposium itself will be divided into three sessions, with a break between each.
