The Meeting Point, in collaboration with the Diversity Office, will be hosting a series of monthly inspirational talks in which successful writers, lawyers, artists, scientists, and doctors from international and migrant backgrounds. How did they find their way in Dutch society? What opportunities did they encounter? They will be sharing their inspirational stories and ideas with students and staff of Leiden University. Sessions will take place on the 3rd Thursday of every month (except in July and August).
The first guest speaker is Babah Tarawally.

About the guest speaker
Babah Tarawally (Sierra Leone, 1972) is a writer and columnist and works a a trainer for various organisations that connect refugees and Dutch citizens. In 1995 he fled from Sierra Leone. His first novel was published in 2010, De god met de blauwe ogen (The Blue-Eyed God). In his second novel, De verloren hand (The Lost Hand, 2016) he takes the reader on a journey to the world of asylum seekers and their struggles to overcome their traumas.
