Thinking Planet 2018: thé festival for those who are not afraid to think outside their own box to get to know perspectives from all around the globe.
The world philosophy event Thinking Planet is for everyone who wants to get a new perspective on their life questions and urgent matters. Be inspired by more than 40 national and international thinkers, who will let us meet in 9 halls of TivoliVredenburg with non-Western philosophy from all over the world.
Discover interesting cultures through lectures, discussions and workshops and get new insights in big themes like identity, burn-out and the environment. Learn more about Eastern wisdoms from Taoism and Buddhism and listen to speakers on African Ubuntu, Islamic lifeart and Latin-American philosophy of freedom. Participate in converstation exercises inspired by indigenous cultures like the Maori, relax through yoga and meditation and enjoy worldy music, poetry and unique storytellers.
With among others: South-African poet Antjie Krog, Nigerian thinker Oyeronke Oyewumi, Ethiopian philosopher Workineh Kelbessa, theater group Building Conversation, philosopher Heidi Dorudi, writer Michiel van Elk and NK Poetry Slam-winner Ozan Aydoğan.
