Carola van Eijk, who just received her doctorate on this subject, will be the first to explain more about how citizens, together with the government, provide all sorts of public services. What motivates citizens? How do the professionals face collaboration with civilian laymen? And how is the interaction between the two parties?

Subsequently, Menno Spaan, founder and director of Haagse Beek organisational advice, will share his practical experiences with regard to citizen participation. He supports various municipalities to come to other methods that focus on input from citizens, institutions and companies.
