LUCDH Lunch Talk: Research Catalogue
- Thursday 7 December 2017
2311 BD Leiden
The LUCDH's final talk this term will be held by Henk Borgdorff, professor of artistic research, and academic director of the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts. He will be presenting on the international database for artistic research called the Research Catalogue (RC).
The Research Catalogue is an inclusive, searchable database whose open source status is essential to its nature. Because the RC’s unique features cater to both researchers and artists the RC can serve as a connective and transitional layer between academic discourse and artistic practice. Instead of journal articles the RC publishes expositions – in which practice and theory can be freely melded to suit the researcher/artist’s unique vision. The RC does this by providing a canvas free of conventional strictures, which is also multimedia friendly. Are you curious what this looks like? Then don’t miss this talk on December 7.
