Conference Frugal Innovation for Sustainable Global Development

Tuesday 7 November 2017 - Wednesday 8 November 2017
Museum Volkenkunde
Steenstraat 1
2312 BS Leiden

Frugal innovations are value-sensitive design and marketing strategies that bring relatively sophisticated products, services and systems within the reach of the billions of poorer and emerging new middle class consumers at the Middle and Bottom of the Pyramid. The challenge is not simply to provide stripped down versions to poorer consumers, but instead to provide value sensitive innovations without sacrificing user value.

This conference is organised by de Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre for Frugal Innovation in Africa. During the conference inspiring academics, experts, policy makers and designers will discuss the relevance of frugal innovation for sustainable global development, together with you.
