The Gonda Foundation and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences cordially invite you to the 25th Gonda Lecture by Harunaga Isaacson, Professor of Classical Indology in the Department of Indian and Tibetan Studies, Asien-Afrika-Institut, Hamburg University, Germany.
The 25th Gonda Lecture by Harunaga Isaacson will discuss aspects of the role of secrecy and of the idea of secrecy in Indian tantric religions, as well as in other Indian (classical Sanskritic) traditions. The relationship between oral and written transmission of knowledge in pre-modern India will also be touched upon.
