Biological anthropology, also called physical anthropology, is the study of the physical remains of humans.
Recent times have seen an immense increase in the application of medical imaging, especially CT imaging, within biological anthropology. This presentation will illustrate how CT imaging can be applied to archaeology, paleopathology and human osteology in general.
The presentation will demonstrate some of the applications for identification and diagnosis of diseases, as well as virtual excavation of Bronze Age cremations, assessment of age in child mummies and method development within biological anthropology.
