This year’s fall symposium will start off with presentations from three biotech companies whose work centers on advanced tissue culture models. State of the art organoid -, patient-derived tumor-, and organ-on-chip models will be discussed in the context of drug development and personalized therapy selection. Notably, two of these companies are from the Leiden bioscience park and have close links to LACDR. The speakers are Willemijn Vader, Rob Vries and Paul Vulto. After the break, two speakers from LUMC will discuss exiting work in the area of vaccination strategies (Tom Ottenhof) and cancer therapy (Sjaak Neefjes).
Traditionally the Suzanne Hovinga Prize will be handed out during the Fall symposium. The prize will be awarded to the student who has written a report on his/her Master internship of exceptional quality. Submission is possible by 30 September 2017 the latest.
