Saturday 28 October 2017 is the Night of the Night. The illuminataion on many Leiden monuments will be switched off, drawing attention to light pollution. The Leiden Observatory will made grateful use of this period of darkness: from 20.00 to 23.30 hrs everyone is welcome to come and view the star-studded sky. More information >
Sunday 29 October is the annual Open Day at the Leiden Observatory. Visitors are welcome to come to the Observatory and enjoy this historical site. The doors open at 12.00 hrs. and close again at 17.00 hrs. Visitors can take part in activities ranging from children's workshops and planetarium shows to lectures and quizzes; there is something for everyone, young and old.
