The Turn to the Body in Spinoza and Nietzsche.
To be held on 1 November 13:45 - 14:30 hours in the Academy Building,
we would like to announce a Mini-Symposium on Love (of Live) in Spinoza and Nietzsche.
The symposium will be introduced by a series of questions on the Love of Life and Life-Affirmation in Spinoza and Nietzsche, to be presented by Prof. Simon May (King’s College, London).
There will then be three 15 minute presentations:
* Piet Steenbakkers (Prof. Emer., Utrecht): Spinoza on Love and a Life Worth Living
* Herman Siemens (Leiden): Of Love and Hatred in two short texts by Nietzsche
* Razvan Ioan (Leiden): Love of Life and Life-Affirmation in Spinoza and Nietzsche
The presentations will be followed by a roundtable discussion of the theses and questions raised.
All students and staff are welcome!
