Early Christian Encounters with Town and Countryside

Part I of the International Conference, convened by Markus Tiwald and Jürgen Zangenberg. 

The Conference "Early Christian Encounters with Town and Countryside" has two parts. "Urban Structures of Early Christianity" in Leiden will be continued between February 5-7, 2018 with a second meeting on "Rural Jesus-Traditions and Urban Christian Start-ups – Contrast or Correlation?" in Essen/Germany, also convened by Markus Tiwald and Jürgen Zangenberg.

Monday, 1st of May

  • 15.30 - 16.30: Keynote Address: Frits Naerebout (Leiden University): "Urban" and "Rural". Opposition or Complement?
