On April 19th 2017, the Master of Laws: Advanced Studies in International Children’s Rights is organizing a public seminar on Juvenile Justice in the U.S Context, with Mr. Hasan Davis.
Mr. Hasan Davis is a leading performer, youth advocate and motivator. He has overcome personal challenges in his early life (including pre-teen arrests and expulsion from educational systems), and attained legal education. Mr. Hasan Davis has considerable experience in all areas of youth development and has also worked as a youth violence prevention specialist and as a commissioner in the Kentucky department of juvenile justice. His personal story, as well as extensive practical experience and knowledge, offers a unique point of view on juvenile justice in the U.S.
The seminar will take place Wednesday 19 April 2017 at the KOG-building (room B.035), 14:00-15:30. It will include a talk with Mr. Hasan Davis, followed by a Q&A session with students and staff members.
The event is part of the ‘’Monthly Meeting’’ tradition of the International Children’s Rights programme: an extra-curricular forum to address topical issues impacting the lives of children, in an interactive atmosphere and with experts who are familiar with the realities ‘’on the ground’’.
