The Sociocultural Impact of Public Activities in Archaeology
The economic impact of archaeology has been the subject of various impact evaluation studies in the last decades, but the sociocultural impact of archaeology only recently gained attention, resulting in a lack of knowledge on how to interpret, evaluate and measure sociocultural impact. In this paper, which is based on my PhD research, I try to get a grasp on what sociocultural impact is, how it can be measured, and what it means for archaeology.
