Speaker is Diederik Peereboom, Senior Director at Burson-Marsteller Brussels, a leading public affairs and communications company with offices in 98 countries and based in Brussels. Burton-Marsteller is specialised in EU and UN public affairs, reputation and crisis management, digital strategy and advertising, and it covers areas such as health and food, energy and climate, CSR, social affairs, trade and financial services. For example, in the trade realm Burson-Marsteller supports clients in developing their public affairs strategies on trade issues, covering dispute settlements, protecting intellectual property rights, anti-dumping cases and WTO negotiations. In one of its recent projects, Burson-Marsteller developed a strategy designed for major telecommunications operators to raise its awareness, align messages across all markets, and share some of its insights related to today’s young adults. In 2014, the company was named Public Affairs Consultancy of the Year by the Holmes Report. Diederik Peereboom's expertise is in guiding clients through European public affairs, and he is also Chairman of the EMEA Energy Practice. Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller Brussels, he worked for the European Parliament and the Dutch Foreign Ministry. Diederik Peereboom holds degrees from College of Europe (Brugge), University of Groningen and Concordia University.
