Do you have any idea what job you want after you graduate? Would you like to have an introduction into the workforce, tips & tricks for a smashing resume or the chance to start networking?
The Faculty of Governance and Global affairs invites its students to join FGGA: Future Compass on Wednesday 12th of April. During this career event you will have the chance to update your job-finding skills and ask all your questions about ‘working life’ to people in the field. Organisations like Berenschot, the Instituut voor Veiligheids- and Crisismanagement (COT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, G4S and the National Police are coming with interactive workshops. Other workshops are focused on faculty alumni, who will provide you with insights in their daily tasks and career-paths at organisations like NOS, Municipality of Amsterdam, ING, Deloitte and a variety of Dutch ministries.
Of course Future Compass offers you more than these workshops. During the ‘information market’ there is plenty to discover at the Schouwburgstraat. From getting a free professional photo for your LinkedIn, a stylist who gives personal advise on business attire, to the Career Service who will check your CV and LinkedIn on the spot. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to put your gained networking skills into practice, as faculty alumni and companies will be present and ready to answer all your questions during the market and the drinks.

"Zo’n beetje bij iedere sollicitatie, maar ook in het dagelijks leven, wordt vaak de vraag gesteld: “Vertel eens wat over jezelf?”. Vaak het moment voor een ijzige stilte of voor een monoloog waar geen einde aan lijkt te komen. Hoe verkoop je toch jezelf of je idee in een goed samenhangend en pakkend verhaal? Na deze workshop weet je hoe en, belangrijker nog, je kan het ook zeker toepassen!" |

7. Dealing with incidents: choosing an organizational structure - Berenschot Organizations can be confronted with disruptive and unexpected events that require an immediate response. Many organizations for this purpose have a specific ‘crisis organization’: an organizational structure that ‘takes over’ from the ‘regular’ organization until things ease down again. With major crises, this crisis organization is the obvious choice for handling the situation. But what if the situation is a bit of a hybrid: not really a major crisis but no ‘business-as-usual’ either? What structure should an organization use for these so-called ‘incident situations’? In this workshop, we explore this question by working on an actual client case from Berenschot. How would you help this client? |
