LCN2 Brainstorm Day

Tuesday 28 March 2017
Lorentz Center @Snellius
Niels Bohrweg 1

On the 28th of March the Leiden Complex Networks Network (LCN2) will hold a Brainstorm day at the Snellius location of the Lorentz Center. Various members from the constituent research groups of the LCN2 will present on research currently conducted in their groups and institutes in short presentations.

  • 09:30-10:00 Frank den Hollander: Synchronization
  • 10:00-10:30 Andrea Roccaverde: Ensemble equivalence on complex networks
  • 10:30-11:00 Jos Rohling: Complexity and network of the circadian clock
  • 11:00-11:30 Break
  • 11:30-12:00 Erik Schultes: A deep dive into physical complexity: Tools for exploring protein sequence space
  • 12:00-12:30 Vincent Traag: Networks of Science
  • 12:30-13:30 Lunch
  • 13:30-14:00 Frank Takes: Patterns and Flows in Corporate Networks
  • 14:00-14:30 Michael Emmerich: Multicritera optimization in Multiplex Networks
  • 14:30-15:00 Aernout Schmidt: Complex-situations under scrutiny - and the troubles with blending the disciplines (especially the law)
  • 15:00-15:30 Break
  • 15:30-16:00 Diego Garlaschelli: Network reconstruction and community detecttion
  • 16:00-16:30 Valerio Gemmetto: Multiplex Networks
  • From 16:30 Drinks and discussion

The event will provide an opportunity for members of the LCN2 to interact in the hope that this will spark future collaboration across the network.
