Rector Magnificus Carel Stolker and alderman Ingrid van Engelshoven will be present to welcome students on the morning of the first day of lectures to celebrate a new start in a new building. Leiden University is proud of these beautiful new premises and invites students to join us for coffee and cake to mark this special occasion.
Carel Stolker and Ingrid van Engelshoven also welcome students and staff to join them for coffee between 08.45 and 10.00 hrs.
Wijnhaven is in the vibrant centre of The Hague, close to Central Station, the ministries, the city hall and international organisations. The impressive entrance, the café and the inviting seating areas make Wijnhaven an ideal place for meeting colleagues. Some 3,500 students will have lectures in Wijnhaven, and researchers wil seek new knowlege, on such topics as local goverment, political sciences, security, law, healthcare and much more.
The university also has a lot to offer the city, and aims to become a breeding ground for talent for innovations, start-ups and post-academic education. In time, all seven faculties of Leiden University will offer one or more study programmes and research programmes at our campus in The Hague.
08.45 hrs.– 10.00 hrs.: Alderman Ingrid van Engelshoven and Rector Carel Stolker will welcome students. Media will be present.
