We are honoured to announce that Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus is giving a lecture at LUC on Saturday December 3rd, 2016.
Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus is deemed the father of social business and microcredit. Furthermore, he is the founder of Grameen Bank and of more than 50 other companies in Bangladesh. For his constant innovation and enterprise, the Fortune Magazine named Professor Yunus in March 2012 “one of the greatest entrepreneurs of our time.”
In 2006, Professor Yunus and the Grameen Bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for their efforts through microcredit to create economic and social development from below”. Professor Yunus is the recipient of numerous international awards and he is one of only seven individuals to have received the Nobel Peace Prize, the United States Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal. In addition to his activities in microcredit and social business he has been an advocate for the Millennium Development Goals and is a member of the advocacy group for the Sustainable Development Goals.
