Online shopping, who doesn't do that nowadays? Did you know that online shops can offer each website customer a different price? This practice is called online price discrimination, or personalised pricing.

An online shop can recognise a customer, for instance through a cookie, and charge him or her an individualised (higher) price. Dr Zuiderveen Borgesius discusses how companies use price discrimi-nation. He argues that EU data privacy law generally requires companies to be transparent about such practices.
