12 september Marco Beijersbergen will provide a guest lecture for Science Based Business students and other interested students.

Marco Beijersbergen is founder and managing director of cosine. After his PhD in laser physics and optics at Leiden University in 1996, Marco recognised that there is a need for a company that offers commercial services in physics. The success of cosine has proven him right.

Marco has a strong interest in the physical principles behind the development of scientific and industrial instruments. He not only applies this to the benefit of cosine’s customers, but he also shares his views and thoughts with physics and astronomy students both at Leiden University, as well as at other venues.

Marco also extends his expertise to organizations which strive to find synergy between science and business or to support research projects, such as Holland Instrumentation, Holland High Tech, the Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM), part of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), NanoNext NL, and the Dutch National Research Agenda (NWA).
