Research Seminars Series FGGA: New Public Management Reforms across the Globe

You are invited to two upcoming sessions of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs (FGGA) Research Seminar:
Thursday June 9, Jos Raadschelders (Ohio State University) will give a talk entitled “New Public Management Reforms across the Globe”. The seminar will take place from 15.30-17.00h in Schouwburgstraat 2 (room A2.02) in The Hague.
Thursday June 16, Arjen Boin (Institute of Political Science, Leiden University) will give a talk entitled “Managing a Super Disaster: lessons of Hurricane Katrina”. The seminar will take place from 15.30-17.00h in Schouwburgstraat 2 (room Living Lab) in The Hague. The seminars will be followed by refreshments.
The FGGA Research Seminar is a forum for the presentation and discussion of current, high-quality research on topics covered by the faculty. This includes governance at the global, European, national and sub-national levels; public management, public policy and political economy; crisis, conflict and security; and development, sustainability and public health. The aim of the seminar is to stimulate academic discussion and collaboration at the faculty and between the faculty and leading academics and academic institutions. The seminar features both external speakers and researchers from our own faculty and is convened every 2-3 weeks during the academic year.
The Research Seminar is organized under the auspices of the Graduate School of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs.

New Public Management Reforms across the Globe
Jos Raadschelders is a professor at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University and also holds an honorary appointment at the Institute of Public Administration at Leiden University. He served as managing editor of Public Administration Review from 2006 to 2011. Raadschelders is an expert on administrative history, comparative government and the epistemology of public administration. His talk will be based on his recent book "Global Dimensions of Public Administration and Governance: A Comparative Voyage" (co-authored with Eran Vigoda-Gadot), chapters 9-12.
