Location

It is essential for researchers to be able to obtain independent research funding in order to advance in their career. This training course will provide you with both the tools and the opportunity to practice with writing or improving your own research proposal for an individual grant. It is possible to work on a grant proposal that you intend to submit (Rubicon, Veni or Marie Curie fellowship).

Target audience

(Junior) researchers employed by Leiden University who plan on submitting a research grant for an individual grant, and that do not have experience with grant writing yet. Also open to PhD candidates (of Leiden University and Leiden University Medical Center) in the last year of their doctoral research.

It is a prerequisite to have a research idea that you can work with during the training.

Course information

The course consists of two sessions:
* session 1: June 24, 09.00 - 13.00
* session 2: July 6, 09.00 - 13.00

Location: Faculty Club, Rapenburg 73, Leiden, or Plexus, Kaiserstraat 25, Leiden. You will be informed of the venue after registration.

This course is organised by Leiden University HRM department four times this year. More information and registration.

Course tutor

The course is hosted by Anke Klerkx (Director of Grant Development) or, in her absence, by another Senior Grant Adviser at knowledge Exchange Office Luris. The Grant Development Team assists Leiden University researchers with finding opportunities and applying for research grant applications. The team yearly supports hundreds of researchers with applications, which ranges from Veni to large H2020 collaborative projects.
