The chemical biology lecture committee is pleased to announce the lecture of Prof. Benjamin G. Davis. Since the start of his independent career, Prof. Davis has been one of the driving forces in the field of chemical biology with the main focus of his group lying on the chemical understanding of the biological function of protein glycosylation. Over his career he has developed both elegant chemical methodology towards the synthesis of glycoproteins, as well as new approaches for studying the biology of these new constructs. His contribution to the field has been recognized widely and has received numerous awards, including both the RSC Bio-organic Chemistry Award and Tetrahedron Young Investigator Award for Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry. He was also elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society 2 years ago.
