Furnished as a living room, the Meeting Point is especially for students who have recently come to the Netherlands after fleeing their own country.
As a newcomer, you can drop by to ask questions and get advice about making a success of your studies. It’s a place where you can meet other students with a refugee background, as well as buddies, staff and students of Leiden University. All university students and staff, both Dutch and international, are welcome at the Meeting Point.

What can we do for you?
We offer study and career guidance and training, intended to improve your academic skills and job application techniques. We can also assist you with practical matters, for example applying for the Preparatory Year Leiden, requesting student finance and searching for accommodation. Are you experiencing personal problems, or do you just need to get something off your chest? If so, the Meeting Point is there for you.
In our comfortable living room setting you can meet fellow students and share experiences. We also hold regular social activities. See our Facebook page for upcoming events.
The Meeting Point is overseen by the Study and Student Support department in collaboration with the UAF. The Meeting Point supports refugee students by improving access to education, removing obstacles to academic success and encouraging contact with fellow students and staff. In doing so, it strives to contribute to an inclusive climate at Leiden University.
