Vitality and Ageing (MSc)

Entry requirements

The masters Vitality and Ageing stimulates interdisciplinary thought. Meaning that motivated students with a broad scale of Bachelor backgrounds will potentially be admitted to the programme. The Master’s will welcome 50 students.

The deadline for registration is 15 April 2019.

Students with the following Bachelor’s degrees are freely admissible:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine [Geneeskunde];
  • a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences [Biomedische wetenschappen];
  • a Bachelor’s degree in [Gezondheid en Leven]; 
  • a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences [Gezondheidswetenschappen]; 
  • a Bachelor’s degree in [Voeding en Gezondheid]; 
  • a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Technology [Klinische Technologie];
  • a Bachelor’s degree in [Technische Geneeskunde]; 
  • a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, with a major/specialisation in public health, global health or premedical programme from University College;
  • a Bachelor's degree in Movement Sciences [Bewegingswetenschappen];
  • a Bachelor's degree in Health and Society [Gezondheid en maatschappij];
  • a Bachelor's degree in European Public Health.

All admission requests will be reviewed by the admission committee of the masters.

Students with other Bachelor’s backgrounds then mentioned above are invited to submit a request for admission to the admissions committee of the masters. This request will be individually reviewed.

All candidates may submit a request for admission with a Bachelor’s degree from a high-level university that shows sufficient skills, understanding and knowledge of human biological mechanisms and the human body. In addition for Dutch students, sufficient English at vwo level is required.

  • Sufficient level of English is required for international students*, proven by one of the following qualifications:
  • IELTS: an overall score 7, with for Writing and for Speaking at least score 7;
  • TOEFL: overall score 100 (internet-based) with for Writing at least a score of 27 and for Speaking at least a score of 23;
  • Certificate of Proficiency, with for Writing and for Speaking at least score 200 within CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

*This requirement does not apply if you have completed your education in the Netherlands, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia.
*The Language Advisor to the Board of Admissions may conduct an interview with the applicant by telephone to verify his/her level of English.

All international applications will be reviewed by the admission committee of the masters.
