Focus on two themes
The Israel Studies master’s programme offers you the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics covering the history and society of Israel, and its Middle East regional context. Expect a programme that delivers the best in academic skills and knowledge across a wide spectrum of topics. Revolving around the dual themes of unity and diversity and continuity and change, teaching and research guidance covers topics from the birth of Zionism to the present time.
Learn from experts in the field
The staff at Leiden University is versed in linguistic-literary and societal aspects of the field, as well as in politics and international relations. Key features of the programme include academic rigour, an emphasis on linguistic immersion and up-to-date international affairs.
It is also possible to focus on Israel Studies within the two-year research master’s programme in Middle Eastern Studies.
