Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics (MA)
The master’s programme in Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics at Leiden University concentrates on the complexity of languages, ranging from their syntactic structure to how humans process and produce language.
Please note: From September 2019 the programme will consist of the following three specialisations in which you will be able to focus on your area of interest:
Choose from a large selection of languages
You will focus on a diverse range of topics including formal grammar – syntax, semantics, phonology – and experimental approaches to language and speech, language acquisition and modelling. You are able to choose from the largest selection of languages taught and studied at any institution in Europe.
Benefit from our expertise
You will develop a thorough understanding of the complexity of natural languages. You will also learn from a dedicated staff of active researchers in an inspiring academic atmosphere that encourages original and fruitful research.
