Programme structure
The research specialisation offers you the opportunity to spend two full years on training in a research area to become an independent and creative scientist.
Programme outline
The research specialisation comprises research training projects to a total of at least 60 EC, including a presentation for the research group and a written report, the master's thesis. You follow four core courses (24 EC) from one of the two research areas Chemical Biology or Energy & Sustainability. Students in the research specialisation train their communication skills via the essay and colloquium (6 EC).

The Research in Chemistry master offers you many opportunities to create your own programme. You will have the possibility to carry out a research training project abroad at another university or company or follow courses abroad.
