For whom
An experience with floorwork is required (possibly through different techniques i.e. hip hop, contemporary dance, yoga, partnering or contact improvisation). For questions about your level and the class please contact the LAK office: info@lakcursussen.nl

In this course we will focus on our relationship with the floor and with other dancers. Using techniques of contemporary dance (inheriting from Marta Graham technique of the core, Doris Humphrey release technique, Steve Paxton’s material for the spine, contact improvisation), we will work on developing ease, flow and fluidity moving into and out of the floor in coordination with the movements of other dancers. The classes include breathing exercises and spine work to prepare the body’s joints to work efficiently with gravity. Additionally the classes include practices of spatial awareness and partnering work to compose with Floorwork in Group Choreography.

Thu Hang Pham (1992) has danced with the 5 o'clock class (Theatre School, Amsterdam), Peridance, Capezio Center (New York City and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Center (Isreal). She has been educated in various styles, but found her big passion within the modern/contemporary dance. In her lessons she focusses on floorwork, being grounded, musicality, dymanics and muscle awareness while dancing.
