On 26 September 2021 Germany held its Federal Elections amidst a variety of national, European and global challenges. The results put the Social Democratic Party (SDP) with its front-runner candidate Olaf Scholz ahead of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU) and its leader Armin Laschet. Most notably, it has been the strong results of the Greens and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) particularly among young voters that could herald the formation of a new political constellation in the next German government. This event with drinks afterwards, brings together core experts to reflect on the results of the German elections and to analyze the potential implications for Germany’s future foreign policies and role in European and global security.
