Wouter Bruins (IBL) has an MSc in Biology. He is one of the founders of In Ovo, the first company to develop a large-scale solution for determining the sex of a chick while it is still in the egg.

A first exploration of the Gaia sky

Anthony Brown (Leiden Observatory) is associate professor at Leiden Observatory and mainly works on various aspects of ESA's GAIA mission. He has previously held post-doc positions in Leiden, at the European Southern Observatory in Garching and the Instituto de Astronomí in Ensenada.
Abstract
The first data release of the Gaia space mission took place on September 14 2016. I will briefly summarize the motivation for this astronomical mission aimed at mapping our Galaxy and then provide an overview of the contents of its first data release. Samples from the early science results will also be shown.
