Hubertus Irth new scientific director LACDR
Prof. dr. Hubertus Irth will be appointed as the new Scientific Director to the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR) starting September 1st, 2016.
Currently Professor Irth is vice-Dean at the VU Amsterdam Bèta-faculty and is both appointed interim Dean to the Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences and the Faculty of Science at the VU Amsterdam from June 1st to September 1st.
Previously, Professor Irth worked as researcher at LACDR between 1991 to 1999, and for his new function he will be appointed Professor of Biomolecular Analysis. Commenting on his return to LACDR: "It is a great honour for me to be a part of such a renowned research institute which is the LACDR. As scientific director it is again a wonderful opportunity to be intensely involved with education and research.” The Faculty board of the Faculty of science of Leiden university also confirms that in Hubertus Irth they have found an excellent successor to prof dr. Piet Hein van der Graaf.
